SG - (1) Where did the concept for the "Shattering the Myths" book originate?.....
DLB - (1) My wife asked that I write her a poem. I responded " I am not good at poetry, what if I write you a book instead". I choose the title "Shattering the Myths" because the title says so much in so few words......

SG - (2) How long did it take you to write the book?.........
DLB - (2) Five years.......I wrote notes on small scripts of paper much like Robert Townsend did so in the movie the five heart beats..as well as the traditional route....

SG - (3) What is the name and origin of your main character?........
DLB - (3) He's name Luther Taliaferro Thompson. He's called L.T. He's named after Dr Martin Luther King, Jr., and Mr. Booker T. (Taliaferro) Washington, and his great-great Grandfather Hubert Thompson.....

SG - (4) How did you know the exact year America would elect its first black President?...........
DLB - (4) I cannot take credit for divine prophecy. Jesus Christ provided that input.........

SG - (5) Why did you write in detail about the election of Americas' first black President?.......
DLB - (5) When I sat down to write this novel, my goal was two-fold: 1) To highlight role models and their influence regardless of ethnicity or gender: 2) Stress to student athletes that eligibility begins in the classroom. However, as society evolved the true purpose of the book emerged..That being "Gods" desire will become reality, regardless of the amount of time that passes before his word becomes reality. This book mimics biblical principles. Stated simply eighteen years passed before this aspect of Gods' spoken became known to man. Let this book provide mankind with both signs and wonders to the true WILL of GOD.

SG - (6) When was this book published and by whom?.......
DLB - (6) Initially I self published this book in 1995. Validation is evident by catalogs in various U S Army libraries and the Schomburg Center in New York.

SG - (7) What are the 18 profound similarities that exist between your main character (L.T.) and President Obama?
DLB - (7)..........(1) Name depicts his heritage........
(2) L.T.'s wife's maiden/family name Olivia Robinson......
(3) L.T.'s wife graduated from Harvard......
(4) L.T. graduated from Harvard.......
(5) Oprah Winfrey's interview/endorsed L.T.'s presidential candidacy....
(6) Campaign slogan read "Shattering the Myths"...
(7) Possessed eloquent orator skills and uncommon charisma.....
(8) Campaigned for the White House with limited experience.....
(9) Received assassination threats....
(10) Voter registration was accentuated during campaign....
(11) Defeated two family named prohibitive favorite politicians during campaign...
(12) First African American to represent the Democratic Party....
(13) Republican opponent chief physical feature "all white hair"......
(14) Voters concerns were foreign policies, economy and health care reform......
(15) Election results have global impact labeled Historic/Ultimate....

SG - (8) What are the odds of someone writing a book of this magnitude?.......
DLB - (8) I sort an answer to that question from faculty members at Georgia Tech unfortunately no one provided me with an answer.

SG - (9) What efforts have you undertaken to market and publicize the contents of this book?.........
DLB - (9) I want to begin by acknowledging the incomparable support I've received from the Schomburg Center forResearch in Black Culture in New York, and numerous U S Army libraries across the country and overseas for cataloging my book. I explored the notion of assigning the odds of the likely of such book. And of course I reached to the likes of Oprah, CNN and various black organizations. Lastly I've written a movie script draft.

SG - (10) Discuss the historical significance of this book and how you would like historians to define it?.........
DLB - (10) I would hope that historicians would state that this book did provide mankind with both signs and wonders that Gods word and WILL will come-to-past. Also record that this book was written at a time in Americas history when hardly anyone dwelled upon the likehood of the election of a black man ever holding the highest office in the land.....

SG - (11) What suggestion do you have for President Obama in the upcoming 2012 presidential campaign?....
DLB -(11) Adopt the campaign slogan " Yes we can shatter the Myths" then proceed to categorically dispel his Republican opponent platform.........

SG - (12) Would you be willing to debate your prophecies against those of Nostradamus?......
DLB - (12) First of all Nostradamus's predictions require interpretation of quatrains and theories my book does not. Therefore, I would accept a debate challenge without hesitation.......

SG - ....In closing......Please discuss with us what you will be working on next?........
DLB - I am in the final stages of my second book titled "Whisper this to society". I have proposed a few campaign slogans to President Obama for the upcoming 2012 presidential election. Such slogans are available on T-shirts, hats and book-bags. I have signed up to volunteer for the upcoming election. While fulfilling all interview requests
